Intended for use with the Virtual Console, the Wii Classic Controller was released alongside the Nintendo Wii on November 19th, 2006. Plugging into the Wii Remote, the Wii Classic Controller has most of the inputs a modern controller has: four face buttons, four shoulder triggers, a directional pad, and two analog sticks. Most retail games do not support the Classic Controller, but a few retail games (such as Super Smash Brothers Brawl) as well as almost every game on the Virtual Console support Classic Controller inputs.
