Designed as a wireless alternative to the standard Xbox 360 headset, the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Headset utilizes 2.4 Ghz technology to communicate with the console. The headset is supported by most titles featuring online competetive and/or coopertive modes, but can also be used in games that utilize voice-recognition, such as Tom Clancy's Endwar.
The headset fits ergonomically over one of the player's ears, with the mouthpiece extending a short way down the side of the player's face. Located directly on the headset are the power and mute buttons as well as the volume control. The quality of both the microphone and the earpiece on the wireless headset is generally regarded as better than the standard wired version. The headset is charged using the included plug-in AC adapter, with a single charge lasting up to eight hours.
