Held from January 5th-9th in the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, Macworld 2009 marks the final Macworld Conference and Expo event that Apple will be attending and featured a final Apple Macworld Keynote delivered on January 6th by Apple's Senior Vice President of Product Marketing, Phil Schiller.
The Macworld Conference and Expo trade show has been around since 1985 occurring multiple times a year until 2005 and in recent years has occurred annually in January. Traditionally Macworld has been a venue where Apple has announced new product launches while third party developers show off their new Apple compatible products alongside sessions focused on training Mac users to do more with their machines.
With Macworld 2009 being Apple's final Macworld, the long term future of this IDG-sponsored event is somewhat uncertain, although a Macworld 2010 has already been scheduled for January 4th-8th, 2010.
