The Samsung SyncMaster 2494HS, getting its Japanese release in December, 2008, is a 23.6-inch LCD panel display with full HD capabilities and a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The screen has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a response time of 5-milliseconds, and 170/160 degree viewing angles for horizontal and vertical lines of sight (similar to the SyncMaster 2343BW, though without that screen's higher resolution of 2048 x 1152). Users can rotate the screen for portrait-style viewing and connect a variety of devices, with inputs supporting HDMI, DVI-D (HDCP-compatible), and RGB formats. The SyncMaster 2494HS comes with two built-in 3W speakers, and has an operating power consumption of 48 watts. The screen is priced at the US-equivalent of $423.
