Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

BenQ's V2400W is a widescreen 24-inch LCD monitor with 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution. The screen's a solid performer with 1,000:1 contrast ratio (appearing as 4,000:1 when using dynamic backlighting) and two-millisecond grey-to-grey refresh time; though its specs aren't out-of-the-park amazing, they measure up against other 24-inch screens, like Dell's UltraSharp 2408WFP. With an MSRP of $500 (but selling online as low as $400), the BenQ is far cheaper than the $600 Dell, though it lacks that model's extra input options for analog video sources.

Reviews for the monitor praise its base for stability and ease-of-access to hook-ups; the supporting arm is mounted off-center to expose the VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs. On the other hand, the base was faulted for not supporting height adjustment or swiveling, though it does have forwards/backwards tilt controls. The V2400W gets good marks for thorough On Screen Display options, but reviewers warn that the buttons are overly sensitive, and are prone to being pressed accidentally.
