3D TV coming to Best Buy this week

With a 24.6 megapixel resolution, this camera is safely within the realm of super high-end technology intended for professional photographers. To give some perspective, the highest resolutions for consumer level point-and-shoot cameras aren't usually much higher than 10 megapixels. The biggest news for the Alpha 900 is that it will be the first to integrate Sony's 35 mm full frame CMOS Exmor™ sensor. The sensor is designed to capture and quickly process super high resolution images. A broad dynamic range alongside an automated dynamic range optimzer should retrain subtle color and brightness details of something in high light or dark shadow. Two image processors combine to quickly record the data, so that at the highest resolution (6048 x 4032 pixels), Sony claims it can still take 5 pictures per second. The CMOS sensor also integrates Sony's image stabilization system to reduce blur caused by camera shake, especially on zoomed-in shots.

The body is physically sturdy, and weighs in at almost 2 pounds. Sony intends it to be resistant to dust and moisture. Connectivity options include a USB port to connect to computers, and a mini HDMI port for HDTVs, which will be a must to faithfully display the high-res pictures this camera can produce.
