Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

In spring 2008, Nikon released the D60 into expanding market of entry-level digital SLRs as an upgrade to their D40 and D40x. The physical design is almost exactly the same as the previous two. The camera's 10.2 megapixel sensor is mid-range for digital SLRs. Maximum sensitivity has been increased from ISO 1600 to ISO 3200, and it can shoot 2.8 fps for up to 100 consecutive shots. Nikon's EXPEED image processor is intended to digitally optimize the pixel data. Like the D40 and D40x, the interface and menu-browsing on the LCD is intended to be especially helpful and educational by demonstrating example pictures for particular settings.

With the D60, the lens kit that comes with the package includes an image stabilization system that is designed to reduce blur caused by camera shake. A Rangefinder system is also new to the series, which Nikon claims will assist exposure optimization when focusing manually. SD and SDHC cards handle storage, and the camera has one port each for USB and component video cables.
