Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Fujifilm's FinePix S5 Pro follows up the S3 Pro in the S-series of high end digital SLRs designed for professional photographers. Maximum resolution remains 12.34 megapixels, but an upgraded sensor allows for an improved dynamic range over its predecessor – up to 400% (W2) – that Fujifilm claims will allow the S5 Pro to capture more detail in high contrast scenes. Also new is a face detection system which can isolate and zoom in on up to ten faces from a single shot, which allows up to 10 portraits to be made from a group shot. Max sensitivity is also boosted to ISO 3200, up from the S3 Pro's max of ISO 1600, and an upgraded processor is designed to mitigate noise associated with higher sensitivities. The S5 Pro emphasizes professional-quality portrait pictures with scene options that are intended to highlight details such as skin tones against backgrounds.

Shutter speed ranges from 1/8000 of a second to 30 seconds for long exposures, and the camera can shoot up to 3 frames per second in continuous shooting mode. Image optimization options include automated exposure metering, white balance settings, and red-eye reduction. The 2.5 inch LCD display shows 230,000 pixels, but it smaller than those found on many other digital SLRs and newer compact digital cameras.
