The Canon PowerShot SD790 IS is a 10-megapixel ultracompact camera that sports a beveled body with a flush-button physical interface. Part of Canon's Digital ELPH camera line, this camera features a 3x optical zoom and Canon's exclusive Optical Image Stabilizer software, which reduces blur due to camera movement. For subject movement, the camera uses motion detection technology to select the proper ISO setting to capture the image. The PowerShot's 3-inch LCD screen allows for wide angle viewing, and the Night Display option enables the onscreen image to be seen in low-light situations. Face detection and red-eye correction algorithms work to help correct common portraiture issues. The Canon PowerShot SD790 IS 3.6 inches wide by 2.2 inches tall by 0.8 inches thick, and weighs 5.4 ounces.
