The A720 IS is a late 2007 entry into Canon's A-series line of digital cameras for shoppers on a budget. The A720 IS improves on its predecessor, the A710, in a few ways: it ups the megapixels from 7.2 to 8.0, extends the ISO range to 1600 and includes face detection. Features inherited from the previous model include a 6x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD screen and image stabilization. Like all recent A-series cameras, the A720 takes SD and SDHC memory cards and standard AA batteries.
