The Canon Powershot A550 is an entry-level point-and-shoot digital camera in Canon's A-series. The A550, which succeeds the A530, has a larger LCD (2.0" as compared to 1.8") and a larger CCD for greater image resolution. With a 4x optical zoom lens, the camera captures 7.1 MP images and captures VGA video and 60 fps (frames per second) video. Featuring the expected camera modes, the camera has ISO settings up to 800. Media types supported by the A550 include SD, SDHC, and MMC memory cards (a 16MB MultiMediaCard is included in the retail package). The camera also has a 16:9 Widescreen mode which allows full-screen viewing on widescreen displays. Powered by 2 AA batteries (included), the retail package also includes a software bundle for viewing and editing images.
