The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i is the first SLR in Canon's Rebel line to have high-definition video recording. The entry-level SLR takes pictures at a 15.4-megapixel resolution and uses Canon's DIGIC 4 Imaging processor, the same processor used in its higher-end cameras.

The Rebel T1i has a 3-inch Clear View LCD, auto lighting optimizer, Live View, and Creative Auto Mode which allows you to control the exposure compensation, as well as the aperture and shutter speed while still remaining in auto mode. If you have a lot of fast moving kids, or love sports photography the camera has a continuous shooting mode at 3.4fps for up to 170 JPEG images or nine RAW images in a single burst, and offers ISO speeds from 100 up to 3200 in whole stop increments as well as two high-speed ISO settings at 6400 and 12800.

The SLR is compatible with Canon EF and EF-S lenses, including all of Canon's large-aperture EF L-series professional lenses and will be available in May for $799.99 body only, and $899.99 packaged with Canon's EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens.
