Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

The Maingear SHIFT packs top-of-the-line gaming hardware into an enormous tower built for optimum vertical air flow and heat management. The case is not as flashy as those of some other high-end gaming machines, but that's probably a good thing.

The hardware inside can be customized with a very broad range of options, but the default $2,599 X58 model comes loaded with an ATI Radeon HD 5770 GPU with 1 GB of video memory, a quad-core 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 CPU, 6 GB of RAM, a liquid cooling system for the processor, and a 750 GB hard disk drive.

Possible upgrades include solid state drives, a TV tuner, a Blu-ray drive, and an EVGA Killer Xeno Pro Gaming network card.

The SHIFT is available now from Maingear's website.
