Fujitsu's Siemens Esprimo 7935 is a desktop PC featuring a power-saving function that drops the watt usage to zero when the power is turned off. Most computers use a small amount of power to keep specific functions active even when shut down, but the 7935 is designed to switch to a zero-energy mode. The computer can also be programmed to open a standby window at a specific time for moving into a low-power mode, useful for companies who may want to update systems during the night. The 7935 also has an 89 percent efficient power supply designed to save energy and give off less heat. There is no word yet on specifications or a release date beyond the second half of 2009, but the PC is suspected to cost between $760 and $890.
