Originally introduced on August 15, 1998 and most recently revamped on April 28, 2008, the iMac is Apple's all-in-one desktop computer. The iMac is notable for the entirety of the computer's components being integrated behind the screen so that the iMac takes up minimal desktop space. The Apple iMac is currently available in four models, two 20-inch screen iMacs and two 24-inch screen iMacs ranging from $1199-2199. The primary difference between all four models, besides the screen sizes, are differences in graphics card, processor speed, hard drive space, and pre-installed RAM. The entry level 20-inch iMac comes with a 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of memory, a 250GB hard drive, and a ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics card with 128MB memory. The top-of-the-line 24-inch iMac comes with a 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GBs of memory, a 500GB hard drive, and a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS graphics card with 512MB memory. All models come with a DVD±RW / CD-RW optical drive, a built-in iSight webcam and microphone, Apple Keyboard, Apple Mighty Mouse, and a mini-DVI out. With the appropriate optional adapter, the iMac can connect via composite video, S-Video, VGA, or DVI to either a television or an additional monitor, supporting a digital resolution of up to 1900x1200 pixels and an analog resolution of up to 2048 x 1536 pixels.
