Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Sony Ericsson's W760a is a motion-sensitive Walkman-branded 3G musicphone. The phone is a candybar-style slider, exposing a numeric keypad under its 240 x 320 TFT screen. Sony Ericsson has integrated the phone's accelerometer into music playback like in previous Walkman models, letting the user control track options by tilting or shaking the handset, similar to the control scheme available in the latest iPod nanos. The phone doesn't have internal room for media storage, but supports Memory Stick Micro for expansion, coming with a 1GB card, and features an FM tuner for even greater music availability.

The W760a receives tri-band HSDPA for high-speed data connectivity, even when roaming internationally, with a fall-back to quad-band EDGE available. There's a GPS receiver for online mapping, but the route-guiding solution, AT&T's Navigator, is a $10-a-month extra. Packed-in software includes 3D games that take advantage of the accelerometer for motion-based input and a web browser developed by NetFront. The W760a retails for around $130 after mail-in rebate and two-year service commitment.
