The Sharp Solar Hybrid 936SH is a cell phone appearing exclusively (for now, at least) in Japanese carrier SoftBank's Summer 2009 lineup. All the traditional specs are high-end, including an 8-megapixel camera, a widescreen VGA display. It sounds like a good phone, but it doesn't stop there.
The two big surprises are that it's waterproof, and that it's solar rechargeable. A solar panel is built into the body, and Sharp says that for every 10 minutes that it's exposed to direct sunlight, you'll get two hours of standby time and one minute of talk time.
Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but the phone is scheduled for an August release.
