Google Nexus One and HTC Supersonic 4G smartphone heading to Sprint

Product Details

The BlackBerry Curve 8530, a.k.a. Aries, is virtually identical to the already-announced Blackberry 8520, a.k.a. Gemini, but with support for CDMA networks, meaning it will operate on Sprint, Verizon, and other carriers that use that technology.

Like the 8520, the 8530 has a 2.5-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, a QWERTY keyboard, and a 2-megapixel camera. It also connects to Wi-Fi networks and features a slot for expanding your storage with MicroSD cards.

It runs BlackBerry OS 5.0, so expect all the usual BlackBerry smartphone features: web browsing, e-mail, music playback, and of course, phone functionality and text messaging. All that is yours from Verizon right now for $199.99 at retail or $99.99 at e-tail. Alternatively, you get get it from Sprint as of mid-December 2009 for $50 with a contract — after a mail-in rebate.
