Google Nexus One and HTC Supersonic 4G smartphone heading to Sprint

Motorola released its RAZR V3 in 2004, notable at the time for its incredible thinness, at only 0.6-inches when shut, and its chemically-etched metal alloy keypad. The flip-phone features a VGA-resolution camera (no flash or focus control) and external 96 x 80 display in addition to the main 176 x 220 screen. The original V3 model is GSM-only; lacking modern data support, its fastest connection is over GPRS, with which it retrieves web pages for its WAP 2.0 browser.  Messaging support includes AOL Instant Messenger, mail retrieval from compatible POP3, SMTP, and IMAP4 servers, and standard SMS and MMS services. Communication options are extended beyond the handset with an integrated speakerphone and Bluetooth support.

The V3 started off a line of models with minor changes to the core design, including handsets with dual cameras, a two-megapixel camera, CDMA support, and 3G data. Though the original V3 has been discontinued, these descendants continue to be sold, including its official follow-up, the RAZR².
