The HTC Droid Eris for Verizon is very similar to Sprint's HTC Hero, with a 5-megapixel camera, up to 16 GB of microSD storage, 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, onboard Wi-Fi, a Qualcomm CPU, and Google Android 1.5 installed. Yep, no Android 2.0 on this phone just yet.

The neat thing is the price: the Droid Eris only costs $99 on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. That's half what the Motorola Droid costs, but this phone has a slower CPU and older software. You can pick this phone up as of Friday, November 6th, 2009.
