Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Product Details

Research In Motion's BlackBerry Curve 8900, also known as the Javelin, is a mid-range smartphone with full QWERTY keyboard and 480 x 360 screen.

Unlike its close older brother the BlackBerry Bold, the Javelin lacks 3G support, with EDGE data the fastest available. Outside areas with EDGE reception, the Javelin supports data connections over Wi-Fi networks, and can make and recieve calls using UMA, saving the user cellular talk-time minutes.

Like most recent BlackBerrys, the Javelin sports a mini-trackball for pointer control and webpage navigation. Powered by a 512 MHz processor, the smartphone has 256 MB on-board flash memory, with expansion available via microSD support.

It runs the same operating system software as the Bold, retains GPS functionality, and features a 3.2-megapixel camera.

In addition to being available on T-Mobile, AT&T has announced that beginning in the summer of 2009, the 8900 will be available on AT&T. [Update:] It goes on sale May 22 at AT&T for $199.99.
