The AT&T Tilt, or 8925, is a Windows Mobile-powered GSM smartphone built by the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC, and sold unlocked internationally as the TyTN II. Additionally, this successor to the AT&T 8525 is also sometimes referred to by its pre-production codename, the HTC Kaiser. The feature-packed handset was one of the most advanced devices of its day, offering a full suite of wireless options along with GPS, a 2.8-inch, LED-backlit QVGA display and an innovative tilting, spring-loaded screen that opens to reveal a full QWERTY thumb board. Despite its many attractive options, the Tilt was widely criticized for omitting a driver that would take full advantage of its Qualcomm chipset's built-in video hardware acceleration, making this model's GUI and multimedia playback even laggier than some of its predessors.
