Announced at CES 2009, Panasonic's SDR-SW21 is one in a series of new active camcorders. Focusing on portability, the SW21 records to SDHC/SD memory cards making it especially lightweight and compact. The SW21 is also noted as a rugged camcorder with a number of specifications. The camcorder is waterproof in over 6 feet of salt or fresh water, shockproof for a 4-foot drop, and dustproof against dirt and sand particles. With Panasonic's iA system, the SW21 automatically adjusts to different shooting conditions and engages face detection and optimal scene mode. Packaged with software for data transfer, video can be easily uploaded to YouTube (when recorded in Web mode). The SW21 is available in lime green, silver, and orange.
