Debuting at the Japanese CES 2009, Panasonic's SDR-H80 is an entry level camcorder featuring a 0.8-megapixel sensor, a 70x optical zoom (100x digital zoom) , and a 2.7-inch LCD display. Users can record to a built-in 60 GB hard drive or compatible SD and SDHC memory cards, and choose to use the YouTube video mode for Internet-ready recording. Panasonic has given the SDR-H80 face detection and optical image stabilization functions to help with smooth recording. So far the camcorder has only been released in Japan, with no word yet on American release dates or prices.
