The JVC KY-F4000 is a video camera prototype by capable of capturing high-definition video at a 3840 x 2160 resolution with 60fps capabilities in RAW mode. Unlike comparable cameras such as RED and Arri the JVC KY-F4000 is designed with live streaming in mind, making it an ideal choice for teleconferences and live streaming important events. The camera was originally shown off in May 2009 as a possible use for a recently developed 1.75-inch 8K4K D-ILA (Direct-Drive Image Light Amplifier) used in a projector also made by JVC. The projector is capable of producing a 35-megapixel high-definition image (8192 x 4320 pixels) with a area-per-pixel ratio 50 percent over JVC's previous LCD panel.
The JVC KY-F4000 is expected to be released in April 2010 for under $200,000. You can read a full press release for the camera after the break.
