Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Pure Digital's Flip Video Ultra is a solid-state digital camcorder with flip-out USB connection for easy computer downloads. The Ultra records its video to 2GB of internal flash memory, giving up to 60 minutes recording time; unfortunately, there's no ability to expand this storage with additional flash cards. The Ultra doubles the memory of the previous Flip Video camcorder without increasing recording time, instead doubling the bitrate of the video for higher quality.

The Ultra features a 1.5-inch LCD screen and video-out for connection to a TV. Software supports one-step YouTube uploads, streamlined from previous Flip models. With a 1/4-inch 640 x 480 CMOS sensor, the camera shows surprisingly strong low-light performance, as reviews noted. The Ultra takes AA batteries, which should provide up to two hours of recording time.
